Often times things happen in our Christian journey that negatively affects our walk with God. We could find ourselves going back to things we have stopped, staying away from fellowship, could feel condemned in our heart about certain sinful action, Christianity is no longer exciting, we find the Bible boring, these and more are expressions of what some refer to as backsliding.
But all hope is not lost. Brother/Sister, you can get right back on track.
Here’s how in these simple step.
1. Get your mind in the right frame.
You need to know the truth from God’s word. God never left you, he has been in fellowship with you since the day you belived the Gospel and received the indwelling of the Spirit.
1 Corinthians 1:9 (Message Translation) God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares with us the life of his Son and our Master Jesus. He will never give up on you. Never forget that.
He never left you, now you need to become conscious that’s he’s in yo
He never left you, now you need to become conscious that’s he’s in you right now by his spirit.
Meditate upon that.
2. Meditate upon the fact that God has forgiven your sins, and he is holding absolutely nothing against you, this should keep you from guilt and condemnation.
Colossians 1:13-14 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed [us] into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
1 John 4:10 In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins.
3. As you think you think upon these, there is another very important step.
Get back to the assembly of belivers, get back to church meeting, where you’ll pray with saints, worship with saints, and be taught God’s word, 3be corrected by the inspiration of the spirit through the teachings.
Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as [is] the manner of some, but exhorting [one another,] and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
A lot depends on this.
4. After such meetings in your private life do your best to maintain a spiritual routine of daily devotion. Have times in everyday when you pray, especially in tongues, and read the Bible, go over your notes taken in church. Have days when you fast. And plan to be in the next church meeting.
Dear Saint, These should get you back on track, God loves you, he deals with you as a loving Father, and you his dear Child.
